Listen To The Fall Leaves

They speak to me... falling so eloquently, so wonderfully. Listening to "In a Big Country," they fall to the beat. It's a new season of change. When my world changes, the leaves do too. So brightly, like a piercing tiger's eye, like the crystals in a stream.

"And in a big country, dreams stay with you,
Like a lover's voice, fires the mountainside.."

I hear these lyrics upon passing the striped, colorful leaves of a tree. It stands between others, but it's smaller than them. Ten leaves fall as I pass.

"I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert,
But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime.."

I love fall, it's my favorite season. The trees die yes, but they come back to life. That's what makes them so terrific. No other life forms can do that. Change is in the making. I can hear it, and this time it seems right.
